Skin type an overview

What’s your skin type? Most people can pretty easily identify there skin type once they get older but when your in teens it is usually one type which is oily and of course everything that goes with your skin at that age you know the usually pimples and black heads. Sometimes this type condition continue for sometime however usually it does go way but that can vary depending various conditions.

Usually a person skin falls under one of the following Oily, Dry, and Combination are the most common type of skin that people have although many things contribute to changing your skin condition.

Some of you might wonder why I have this type of skin and the basic answer due to a combination of reasons. One is the most obvious which your genetics and what you inherit from you parents for example if your Mother has brown hair and blue eyes and your father has back hair with brown eyes and lets say you have blue eyes with drown hair then you receive those features from you Mother. Some times there maybe some genetics conditions may skip a generation which is rare but can happen.

Another factor is what you eat, yes the old saying of what you eat is what you are could not be more true. If you eat lots of junk food that has lots of oil then there is a good chance that you will have oily skin as well. There are other reasons for having oily skin this is just one example.

Another factor is your environment live and work at can be contributing factors to your skin a great example is a life guard. A life guard at the beach is constantly being exposed a variety of elements the Sun and the water and sand all of which can cause damage to your skin. In the same area weather can have effects on your skin also such as very cold windy days which cause dry skin.

One of the last factors that stresses your skin and impact your skin is smoking. Smoking combined with constant exposure to the Sun can make you look much older then your chronological age wise. One other thing that sometimes adds to skin problems and goes hand in hand with smoking is the drinking of Alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages done in moderation are not that bad but if you heavy or constant drinker then it can add to your skin condition and damage your over all body health.

The last type of skin type that you might have is called Combination skin. If you have this type of skin then you will have some areas that are oily version other areas that are not. Usually these areas are on the top of the person’s forehead and nose on your face while other areas like your cheeks are normally dry.
